Tell me something from when I was little. It doesn’t have to be well said, just give me anything. Give me me.
Truthful, compassionate and warmly funny I Do I Don’t traces the forgotten past of our storyteller, filling in the gaps through the recounted memories of her family…with a touch of jazz hands.
What begins as an actress on stage sharing her family story transforms into something beyond one writer’s history-til-now. This is a story about a woman’s search for answers. It’s a story that shines a light on mankind’s optimism in the wake of our traumatic past. It’s a story about how we manage to build ourselves despite shaky foundations. It’s a story about hope and survival – of a girl, a woman, a sister, a daughter, a family, a nation and a people.
“The luminous Richards can’t help but be the best thing in almost every production she’s in.” –The West Australian
“Richards has a wonderfully powerful and accurate emotional range. She does big things well and her skill at the little things impresses even more.” -The West Australian
